The Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is the backbone of modern IT operations and service management — a structured system of record for every IT asset (Configuration Item) and how they relate to each other and to the services they support. This course teaches you how to design, populate, govern, and get real business value from a CMDB, including how it aligns with ServiceNow’s Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
ITOM/ITSM analysts, CMDB administrators, architects, and anyone responsible for keeping IT asset and service data accurate and useful.
The curriculum is organized into dedicated sections covering CMDB fundamentals and CI classes, relationships and dependency mapping, discovery and data sources, service mapping, the Common Service Data Model (CSDM), and CMDB governance and data quality. Lesson content for each section will be added progressively.
